The best part was following him as he followed what looked like ATV or dirt bike tracks up and down the dunes for a quarter mile or so. Ultimately we came around a corner and I saw that the tracks ended at two guys on mountain bikes with ultra-fat sand tires. I waved at them, they nodded, laughing a bit, but Pete took no notice at all. He just carried on, driving his toy truck in their tracks, head down, until he practically walked right into them.
Then we watched them ride off straight down the dune face. "WOW!" he said. Yep.
